Oh, man. I think its been 13 years since i’ve done any watercolors! I tried to remember my old technique as I hastily painted on a card, and scanned it before sending it through the mail. Christmas can be sneaky sometimes, showing up the day after thanksgiving. However, I hope everyone’s Christmas turns out extraordinarily special this year.

This is turning out to be one long goodbye. Santos doesn’t seem to care. He’s in his zen mode, going for that all time high stabbery record. Stabbing+ Robbery = Stabbery. (For the record, we do not condone either. It usually leads to trouble. Trust me.)
By the way, -if you can make it out, the mug who’s framed in the picture is Dee’s BF, ‘Bill’.
A new character graces our comic today. Her name is Dee, and she is loosely based on our good friend Dana Wulfekotte from Leadpaintcomics.com. Nothing can convey how appreciative we are for Dana and her boyfriend (Yes, our good friend, too) Phil Andrews from Elmsfieldcomics.com for taking care of Santos in time of great need. Matter of fact, to prove that Santos is real, and Dana took care of him, here is a sketch she did. Thanks again, guys!
Wow, look at that! Another post!
Its a bit reflective, but things have to get worse before they get better, right?
Hello, again.
I know. Its been awhile since our last post. A lot has happened since, and I’ll elaborate more about it in the future.
For now, I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy (and Safe) Halloween.
Still on the road. I can’t wait until I settle down, call a place ‘my home’, and get a steady stream of BGR’s out. ‘Jells’ posted a comment about missing Boy, Girl, Rabbit. I miss them, too! -Matt
I was finally able to squeeze out a comic strip using Jenni’s chickity designs. Have a good Good Friday, and Happy Easter this Sunday! -Matt
Another Birthday Surprise w/ Guest Artist Keith Vincent!
by Mr.Mr. on April 18, 2011 at 12:01 amI’m surrounded by the best-est friends! Friday the 15th, Keith Vincent drew me this picture of Santos for my birthday! How cool is that? I’ll tell you: Sooo cool! Thanks so much Keith!
I also want to thank John Holt , Mary Varn (from NPC Comic) for hosting an awesome birthday-get-together! And Phil, Dana Wulfekotte (from Lead Paint Comics), Brian, Jules & Zoya for showing up! I can’t be more thankful enough, guys! You know how to make a fella feel special. -Matt
Santos and I are between apartments, so we’re basically homeless for the next couple of weeks. We’ll try to update on our regular schedule, but things are going to be tough going for awhile until we land on our feet. (THUMP!) -Matt
Carrot Boy and Ninja Rabbit w/ Guest Artist Brendan Tobin!
by Mr.Mr. on April 11, 2011 at 12:01 amGood friend, Brendan Tobin, was kind enough to do a BGR based on the Carrot Boy and Ninja Rabbit MS Messenger drawings. One of these days we’ll learn more about these vegetable assasin’s story. -Matt
It’s the first Thursday of the month, so its time for another BGR Cosplay Thursday.
To get into the Tron video release mood, I had to draw me some ‘Trontos’. Geez, the last time I drew anything Tron, I think I was 7 years old. Might even still have that picture somewhere.
Anyways, Tron is my favorite, blah blah blah, Tron videogames blah, blah, blah …. I guess I might be the minority when I say I actually liked Tron Legacy. But also I’m happy to hear that they’re also releasing the original Tron film on Blu-Ray along with this release. Well I hope you enjoy the pic. -Matt
I guess I have some explaining to do.
Firstly, I want to introduce ‘Toby’. He’s (loosely) based on one of my partners in crime – the talented Brendan Tobin. They usually have to separate us, like 2 grade school children (-as they did where we worked, really!). When we’re not getting fired from work, throwing bricks at taxi cabs, or daring each other to run into the freeway, (again, all true!) we’re usually throwing stupid sketches at each other. I didn’t say great, I said stupid. Well, mine are. Brendan’s sketches always amaze me. Well, yesterday was his birthday. So Happy Birthday, good buddy! I still owe you a movie night to see Brokeback Mountain. I have no idea what it’s about, but they said its good if you’re into cowboys. Whaddaya say, pardner?
The other thing,.. is for all those people who said I look like a beluga whale. They’re right. I do look like a beluga whale (google it!). They have a big forehead, and they’re cute. Nowadays, my forehead is growing bigger and bigger, and I hope I still have some cute left in me. Anyways, I came to terms with having a forehead like a whale.
P.S. Thanks Jenni for putting up with me via Skype these late nights. -Matt
Originally I was going to post an elaborate story with multiple parts as our April Fools entry. But sometimes the simplest solution is the best solution. So for the meantime I shelved it, and in its place I have the one you see here. Perhaps I’ll post it next week …or perhaps not. April Fools! -Matt
UPDATE: I just updated the pic. It now has a depressing grey void.
I asked my old friend and co-worker Keith for a suggestion on today’s post. Since its been raining and hailing outside, he recommended putting Santos in this crappy weather. Thanks, Keith, old pal. I used Jenni’s post from the old site for inspiration. You can’t beat those scribbles. -Matt
What is it with animals and toilet paper? Santos gets a visit from Dokebi, and gremlin/goblin type creature who gives Santos crappy ideas. Not exactly a leprechaun, but Happy St. Patty’s day, anyways. Hey, at least Machu has a green shirt on! Be safe -Matt
Just because you ‘Spring’ your clocks ahead, doesn’t mean its Spring.
Spring’s moving in on the 20th of this month, and its bringing the rain, the Easter Bunny and the taxes. Hopefully some flowers, too.
-Matt
This was kind of how it went. I forgot what movie we were about to watch, but we definitely had to get good seats for it.
Apparently, on the third panel, it looks like CoCo turns into Darth Vader when she gets mad. -Matt
Although we started last month, for every first Thursday of each month we’re going to attempt to post up ‘Cosplay Thursdays’. We’ll be dressing up Machu, Coco, or Santos as our favorite popular character(s) from different genres. This month is MODOK to coincide with March MODOK Madness happening RIGHT NOW at www.marchmodokmadness.blogspot.com
My close buddies, Brendan Tobin and Pedro Delgado spearheaded the project 3 years ago, and its grown ever since. And if you’re wondering who MODOK is, he is an under appreciated MARVEL villain from the late 60′s. MODOK is an acronym for Mental Organism Design Only for Killing…. or in this case KUDDLING! -Matt
Happy President’s Day! I hope you’re relaxing and enjoying your Monday off – for those of you have have it. This comic was hastily made, …so I hope its somewhat informative. Other than honoring our forefathers, I just wanted to see how Santos looked in a Washington wig on. -Matt
Happy Birthday, Coco!
Coco’s (a.k.a. Jenni) birthday is so close to Valentine’s Day. Talk about stress! -Matt
‘Disapproving Rabbit’ as seen on Cuterinbunnyears.com
by Mr.Mr. on February 10, 2011 at 12:01 amSometimes I’m lucky enough to work with super talented people in the industry. Such the case with husband and wife dynamo Ryan Green and Fawn (v-v-eera-sumthin’…) Veerasunthorn!
Thanks again guys, for posting a certain “Disapproving Rabbit” on Cuter in Bunny Ears. Ryan/Fawn, keep up the awesome-ist work. -Matt
My buddy, Brad, is coming to visit me sometime in March as a Christmas gift from his wife. She thought it would be nice if i gifted a BGR comic strip to mark this momentous occasion. I put a little twist on things. Thought I’d share! -Matt
Disclaimer: He’s rarely a mad person.
One more New Year Greeting to our friends overseas! Happy Year of the Rabbit!
-’Coco, Santos, & Machu’
Happy New Year! Hitting our New Year’s resolution again, just as we did on January 1, 2009. Just need to get something posted up! Thanks, Santos, for the motivation.
